Program Overview

The M.Sc in International Business and Management at CBS International Business School is a postgraduate program taught entirely in English, built for students who want to work across borders in various fields such as management, strategy, sales, business development, or even consulting from any corner of the world. The program gives you a broad grounding in how international businesses actually operate, without forcing you to specialise too early.

The program focuses on three core areas:

  • How to develop and evaluate business strategies across international markets
  • How AI and other digital tools are changing the way companies research, compete and make their decision-making processes
  • How to start a business from scratch and transform it entirely, from sustainability and ESG integration to digital innovation

What that means in practice is you'll build skills in Strategy, Financial Analysis, Marketing, Operations, HR, and Research. One would be able to cover the full range of what management involves, instead of being stuck in one area only. Whether your interests lie in finance, marketing, or human resources, this program gives you enough depth in each area to help you decide where you want to go.

CBS runs consulting projects where students work on real briefs from real companies. KPMG, E&Y, and UPS have all been involved, and students present recommendations directly to those clients. There are various other facilities included as well: Business Model Analysis course, a Leadership Convention, and an Event Lab where students plan and run a real event. By the time your degree is completed, you will have done the type of work employers are looking for.

AI-based data research isn't an optional module; it's an essential part of how CBS trains you to work faster and smarter with information. Business Transformation covers how companies are integrating ESG and digital change into their strategy. This reflects the reality that graduates will face.

CBS is based in Cologne- Germany's fourth-largest city with a thriving financial sector, a multicultural student community, and excellent connectivity across Europe, all at a cost of living far more manageable than Munich or Frankfurt. The school has a network of over 1,300 corporate partners and a Career Service team that works with you one-on-one throughout the programme, which likely explains why 94% of graduates secure employment within six months- hiring partners include PwC, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, Deutsche Bank, BMW, Volkswagen, and Henkel. For this programme, specifically, students begin online before moving to Cologne to complete the degree, and Amity supports the entire transition- counselling, admissions, visa paperwork, and pre-departure preparation—making the shift far less overwhelming than it sounds.

Why Choose This Program?

This MSc is for students who want a management degree with real international depth, not just a domestic business degree with a few global case studies in it.

Cologne is one of the most affordable cities in Germany: Cologne is much cheaper to live in compared to Munich or Frankfurt, which is something to consider when you're paying for an international master's. It is also one of Germany's largest student cities, with nearly 100,000 students, a lively social scene, and convenient train connections to the rest of Europe.

Explore Diverse Fields: Many specialized masters lock you into one track, but this program is intended to give you a strong foundation in finance, marketing, operations, and strategy, so you don't have to decide on a pathway before you're ready. Once you know where to build a career, you can go on to work in areas such as management consulting, business development, international sales, corporate strategy, and more.

You'll work on real company projects: One of the things that makes this program unique is the consulting project. You get a live brief from a real company, work through this with your given team, and present your recommendations to real decision makers. This is not a classroom simulation; this is the kind of experience that looks very different and is recommended on a CV.

AI is built into the curriculum, not bolted in: AI-based data research is one of the main modules. Students learn how to use AI to find and analyze information faster, generate insights from unstructured data, and learn how modern businesses actually work. Most traditional program graduates don't possess this, but our program does.

Former C-Suite Leaders teach here: CBS faculty are former executives, managers, and consultants at the C-level who bring real decision-making experience into the classroom. The students are not just getting theory from academics; they’re getting how business really is done from people who’ve been at the top of it.

Two intake windows every year: CBS accepts students both in winter and summer, giving Indian students more flexibility on when to complete their undergraduate degree and when to start afresh.
